Question: Why is lubricant important?

Answer: Lubricant is essential to a compressor’s strength and vitality.  CompAir lubricants are specially formulated to combat the harsh elements of compression while maximizing efficiencies and equipment longevity.

Are you experiencing any of the following?

  • Operating in extreme temperatures or severe air intake environments
  • Unusually high oil carry-over
  • High compressor maintenance/preventive maintenance costs
  • Degradation of air system seals/seal material

Some or all of these real life situations can result in:

  • Breakdown of the lubricant and its ability to protect the compressors critical components (i.e. bearings)
  • Oxidation/varnishing
  • Increased energy consumption
  • Compressor failure
  • Increased make-up, condensate and used oil disposal and maintenance costs
  • Swelling or cracking of air system seals/seal material
To avoid these costly and potentially catastrophic situations, it is important to use the lubricant that meets your unique needs.

Question: What kind of lubricant does CompAir offer?

Answer: CompAir’s specially formulated mineral, synthetic, advanced synthetic, and food grade lubricants use high quality base stocks and state-of-the-art additives to maximize the performance and life of CompAir air compressors.

CompAir offers lubricants that meet individual applications and environments. For example, CompLube “10” is a advanced synthetic PAO/complex ester based lubricant that features excellent resistance to high temperature operating conditions, a high flash point and meets our extended platinum warranty program, while our standard compressor oil, SSL-50, is a blend of PAO and severely hydrotreated base fluids that has a rated service life of 4,000 hours and is ideal for those customers that are looking for a cost-effective lubricant and don’t mind changing fluid often. Our food grade lubricant, SSL-35F, meets the FDA CFR 178.3570 and USDA H-1 guidelines for lubricants with incidental food contact.

Regardless of the application, CompAir has a lubricant that will meet your unique needs.

Question: What makes CompAir lubricant better than competitors?

Answer: There are quite a few lubricants on the market today, but CompAir’s specially formulated lubricants were engineered specifically air compressors and the demands that this type of equipment faces.

CompAir’s free oil sampling program is an added benefit that allows for a third party lab to test the lubricant to ensure its operating at peak efficiency and to alert the customer if abnormalities are present.  By alerting customers early, potentially big problems and/or equipment failure can be eliminated.

CompAir not only offers great reciprocating and rotary screw lubricants, they provide a level of support unmatched in the industry, to ensure that their products are operating at their highest levels to keep your equipment running effectively.
